James’ romantic, rose-tinted approach to life seeps into all aspects of his film philosophy: tangible mediums, practical effects, vintage wardrobe, mythic narrative and a world monochrome.

His recent most recent project, created for Straight 8’s single take 8mm film competition was major steps in realising James’ vision for his filmmaking career.

Previously, James conceptualised, directed and edited ‘Blackjack’ for young jazz prodigy Csé. Both projects were shot over the course of a single day.
